THE ANNOUNCEMENT READ:

We are pleased to announce the appointment of Webster to the position of staff reporter and roving newshound. Webster comes to us with background experience as a night watchman and excavator (holes in lawns a specialty), and although this is his first job as a newshound, we expect that his highly developed instincts and natural tracking abilities will be an asset.

THEN THE FUN BEGAN...

Webster's ambition is to be a GREAT newshound. Friendly, inquisitive, hard-working, and an upstanding kind of guy (or a standing up kind of dog), he strives to do his best in the foreign human environment of the newspaper office.

Webster is proud of his achievement. "I've come a long way," he says. "Now I WRITE for the newspaper - I used to FETCH it!"
